At 7 p.m. on Demcember 8th, the fifth lecture entitledThree Insane Adventureswas successfully held by Mr. Jeremy Jenkin in Lize B204. After retiring from the army, he began his adventurous tours. Thanks to his attractive experiences and humor, he addressed a wonderful speech.
Through his speech, he shared three parts of his adventures. The first is about hiking the Appalachian trail. From 2006 to 2009, the second part was about a cycling trip around the world. The first trip was across the USA and New Zealand but eventually covered Asia and Africa. After cycling, he went across the west of China by motorcycle. The last part is about commercial fishing in Alaska for salmons, halibut and dungeness crabs. After watching his own videos, students were attracted by his adventurous life.
Because of the adventures, he thought about a lot of questions. At the same time, he had a chance to get a better understanding of other countries’ culture objectively and learned a lot from his experiences. He said, “everybody should follow their hearts to find what they really want, and try not to be affected by other’s opinions.” After this lecture, students talked with Mr. Jeremy Jenkin excitedly and shared different views about adventures.
There was no doubt that it was a wonderful and beneficial lecture.
