May 7th was the English corner time. Mr. Martin Stannard and Mr. Miguel Munevar attended the activity.
Mr. Martin Stannard mentioned the cultural differences between the two nations. He said when he first came to China several years ago and then went back to Britain on vacation. Many of his friends asked him what China was like. But he couldn’t tell them exactly and couldn’t express what kind of country China was because China was so different from other countries. It is reflected in the way you think and the way you behave. These are all parts of the Chinese culture and they couldn’t be expressed only by words. Martin also said he learned much Chinese culture after he lived so long in China.
Mr. Miguel Munevar referred that people could make friends through dancing. He said it was important to show your talent when you wanted to make friends with others in his country. He loved dancing so he could make some like-minded friends happily. But he mentioned Chinese usually wouldn’t take this way and this was the cultural differences between the nations. Mr. Miguel Munevar also advised students to attend some parties in order to develop one’s ability and make more interesting friends.
The English corner is where you could feel different culture atmosphere and harvest knowledge and happiness.
