On October 14th, the English corner was held in the library. Ms. Roz Walls, Mr. Christopher Dockstader and Mr. Darren Mullins came to talk with the students.
Chris was so excited to meet his old friends, who always joined his talking. He shared his daily life and answered other students’ questions. He shared his opinion about the differences in communication skills between China and America. Actually, he didn’t agree with some Chinese views about America. Chris’ talk put the students into deep thought.
At the same time, Darren also talked about his country—America. He told the students that American Dream was that you could do what you want. His words made the students burst into laughter. In another corner, Roz asked the students to introduce themselves to help them join the conversation comfortably. Then, she introduced the economy of New Zealand. She said that too many Chinese bought houses in New Zealand, or even all the around the world crazily. It was unacceptable to the local people.
The foreign teachers present this evening not only shared the lives of their countries, but also helped the students to explore the different cultures.
