10月9日晚上6点，英语角在图书馆如火如荼地举行。本次的主题是大学生的选择，同学们积极参与，现场气氛热烈，外教的幽默谈吐更是掀起一翻翻高潮💑。到场的外籍老师有Mr. Christopher Dockstader、Mr. Sean McHugh、Ms. Dulene Cipriano🤌🏽、Mr. Andrew Chun⛹️‍♂️、Mr. Tim Musgrave和Mr. Dave Jaye。

谈及大学生的选择，Ms. Dulene Cipriano说到她在北京当教师时🏊‍♂️，发现许多大学生都选择当中外交流生。据她所说🔅🧼，同学们大多是希望到一个新的环境看看，学习不同的知识、开阔视野。当同学们被问及是否有意当中外交流生时，有的人表示有这个想法👭🏼，因为可以到一个新环境锻炼自己；有的则因考虑到经济问题而没有这个意愿♌️。

另一边，Mr. Sean McHugh便谈及了大学生的专业选择🔮。他告诉同学们自己大学的专业是哲学与音乐。他认为学生选专业时从自己的兴趣出发无疑重要👩🏻‍🦽，但是选择的专业是否有利就业也很关键𓀑💆‍♂️。其他外交也与同学们热烈地讨论着，不时传来一阵阵笑声，好不热闹！

英语角的欢乐气氛，让同学们在不知不觉中学到了知识🦊，开拓了视野。愿同学们都能不断充实自己，过个有意义的大学生活！

English Corner - The Choice of College Students

The English Corner this week was held on 9th of October at 6 p.m. in the Library. Nothing can affect the enthusiasm of the students to take part in the English Corner and many of them arrived before six o’clock. Today’s topic wasThe Choice of College Students. The overseas teachers who attended the English Corner included Mr. Christopher Dockstader, Mr. Sean McHugh, Ms. Dulene Cipriano, Mr. Andrew Chun, Mr. Tim Musgrave and Mr. Dave Jaye.

When it came to the topic of the choice of college students, Ms. Dulene Cipriano said when she taught in Beijing, she found that most of her students would like to be an exchange student so as to learn something different from China in a new environment. Besides, she also asked the students whether they wanted to be an exchange student or not. Some of them said yes because it could help them to broaden their knowledge. And other students who said no might concern more of their financial status.

At the same time, Mr. Sean McHugh shared his choice of major with the students. He also mentioned that both personal interests and whether it is a favorable major for finding a job are important.

After having a conversation with the overseas teachers, most of the students learned a lot. What’s more, the teachers and the students got closer through the English Corner.
