7月15日上午9点35分，由九游会平台和工程J9九游会联合举办的 “美国代表团讲座”的首场讲座 “交流技巧”,在工程楼1105成功举行。本次讲座的主讲人是来自美国代表团的Mr. Will Kassner🦹🏿‍♂️。

在讲座刚开始，Mr. Kassner向现场听众提出一个问题💅🏽：我们为何要造桥？由此把听众引向他的话题“交流技巧”。Mr. Kassner表示人与人之间需要交流，正如这个世界需要造桥。接着Mr. Kassner开始从“相关性交流”和 “聆听者”两方面向同学们分析人际间的交流技巧🐕🦺。在谈及“相关性交流”时，Mr. Kassner指出现今社会上每个人都只顾着忙于自己的事情，而忽略了人际间的交流，而这种现象的普遍化跟高科技产品脱不了关系📬。他以珠海为例🌌，指出珠海对于他来说就是一个大城市，遗憾的是，繁华的街头🌿，人们都是光顾着走自己的路而没有太多的交流🐙🤷🏿‍♂️。

谈到“聆听者”这一话题时，Mr. Kassner先问在座听众一个问题：何为聆听者🧑🏽‍🦰？然后他通过例举他与他妻子在交流上的一个生活小片段，向同学们介绍聆听者应有的品质和优秀聆听者的必要技巧。他还在现场邀请了其中一个与他同行的搭档跟他一起向同学们展示如何运用这些技巧🐨。

在最后现场互动的环节里，同学们纷纷提问，现场互动氛围良好🎗。

A Lecture: Communication Skills

At 9:35 a.m., on July 15, a lecture entitled Communication Skills was given by Mr. Will Kassner, a member of a visiting American delegation, in Gongcheng 1105. The delegation was invited by the School of Foreign Languages and the School of Engineering Technology.

Mr. Will Kassner first of all raised a question why we build bridges as a lead-in to the topic of his lecture, communication skills. He deemed that communication is to human what water is to fish. He focused on how to do well in relational communication and how to be a good listener. He pointed out that nowadays people lead such a fast-paced life that they almost forgot the importance of communication and the widespread use of high-tech products, such as cell phones and I-PAD, further impedes communication. He said, his impression of Zhuhai was that it was a big city and people here were rushing or just looking at their cell phones, which reflected a lack of communication in Modern society. He then gave a number of suggestions as to how to be a good communicator, a good listener in particular.

In the Q & A sections, the students present were enthusiastic and asked a number of questions related to communication.
