演讲人:Mr. Chad Glass
Mr. Chad Thomas Thomas Glass is enjoying his second year as an English teacher at Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai. Hailing from small town Wisconsin in the USA, he has always had a thirst for adventure since childhood when he was a voracious reader. He has lived and worked abroad for more than seven years, and has traveled to more than 30 countries where he has soaked in the local cultures and collected stories from the locals he has met. As a writer in his spare time, he has always felt that each life has a story just waiting to be told.

Many people are concerned about the increase of natural disasters and the mysterious Mayan predictions about 2012. What will the future hold? What is our fate? Is the end of the world coming?
Life is a wonderful and yet fragile thing. This lecture will touch on the traditional ideas of luck and fate in Chinese and western cultures. As well, true stories from the lecturer''s ancestry and family history will emphasize the truly unique facts of each person''s existence, and why we should face the future with hope rather than fear.
