Bronagh Mooney comes from Ireland. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Humanities from University of Dublin, Trinity College, majoring in Hebrew, Biblical, and Theological Studies. She has more than a decade’s worth of experience in the field of ESOL and has previously taught in South Korea.

Stereotypes are often used as a way to simplify our social world. Are they funny or offensive?

We will discuss how stereotypes are formed and perpetuated, the function and effects of stereotyping, and identify how stereotypes relate to individuals and society.
